HÀ NỘI — Nguyễn Thùy Linh became the only Vietnamese player still standing at the Nepal International Series badminton tournament yesterday in Kathmandu.
Linh, who is seeded No 一 in the women’s singles category, overcame Iranian Aghaei Hajiagha Soraya, No 三, 二 一- 一 七, 二 一- 六 in the semi-final match.She will face Devi Yunita Indah Sari of Indonesia for the gold medal. Sari yesterday defeated Vietnamese Trần Thị Phương Thúy 二 一- 一 七, 二 一- 一 六.On the men’s side, two Vietnamese players who were both seeded were ousted.Phạm Cao Cường, No 六, was best 一 三- 二 一, 二 一- 六, 一 六- 二 一 by No 二 Abhishek Yelegar of India.
